What is the mechanism or system that you use?
We use a gas strut mechanism which is a key part that makes the wall bed stay closed by itself. It is this mechanism that ensures ease of lowering and lifting of the bed with a sturdy leg design. Our wall beds are easy to open in just 30 seconds, simply lower and raise with just one hand. We pride ourselves that our product is 100% made and manufactured in New Zealand.
Can we purchase your mechanism or system separately?
Unfortunately we do not sell any of the parts or the mechanism separately. The wall bed can only be bought as a whole not just the individual parts that it is made up of.

We have a 5 year warranty on our Sierra mattresses.
Can I use my own mattress?

Is it delivered flat-packed?
Yes. Our wall beds and mattresses are sent as a flat pack / kit set, ready to assemble with easy to follow, step-by-step instructions. We are more than happy to forward you these instructions to have a look in advance. If you don’t want to do it yourself, we recommend using a local builder or Hire-A-Hubby service. Unfortunately we no longer offer installation in Auckland. We do however, have an installer and contact for the Wellington region who comes highly recommended.
How does it fit on the wall?
Our wall bed MUST be attached to the wall, this is done at two points at the top and fixed to the studs within your wall. It can be secured anywhere across the top, so long as it is secured in two places. Check your wall, we are finding that if you have metal framing, additional fixings and screws are required. The wall bed also has a cut out to allow for most skirting boards.
How often can the wall bed be used?
An ASKO Wall Bed can be used as a spare or everyday bed. We make sure our wall bed is sturdy and durable so you don’t have to worry about how frequently you use it.
Can we store things on top of the cabinetry?
Ideally, no. With the need for more storage in homes and particularly with our horizontal wall beds which has a lower height, we’ve noticed some wall beds, due to overloading, have bowed in the middle which has prevented the bed from closing. The odd ornament or pot-plant is okay but we recommend not loading anything more than 5kg (maximum).
What is the warranty on your wall beds?
We offer a 10 year wall bed warranty. This is made up of: a 2 year warranty on the cabinetry; and everything else including the mechanism, aluminium and hardware a 10 year warranty. Each situation and/or issue will be considered and reviewed case-by-case to identify whether it is indeed a manufactures fault or the users fault, for example, installed incorrectly or exceeding the weight limit, ie: force and pressure from kids using it as a trampoline.
