ASKO Wall beds primarily save you space as they can fold away, but they maintain the most important thing; comfort. Our wall beds are sturdy and won’t move around as they are firmly attached to the wall while the mattress in held in place with a retainer strap.
We aim to please a wide range of people as our wall bed can be used in spare rooms, play rooms and rumpus rooms but it can also be used as an everyday bed. We want to help you save space by making it easy to use and durable with the added bonus of it looking good in the home and being comfortable.
Are your wall beds safe?
The ASKO Wall Bed is completely manufactured in New Zealand. We use a gas strut mechanism which is the key part that makes the wall bed stay closed by itself. This means it is safe for children to be around. We also can provide a locking system that can be installed in case you have any worries.
How much space can you save?
Haven’t got enough room to swing a cat? We pride ourselves by providing you with space saving beds, that are super comfy but still look stylish. Can I use my own mattress?
Yes! But it must be under 300mm thick. Our Sierra mattresses are 180mm and 250mm high which allows ample room for the bed to be dressed and made up, pillows and all.
What colours are available?
Warm White is a firm favourite cabinetry colour. Other popular designer colours include Black Pearl and Silver Strata. Additional designer colours are NZ Tawa, Mist and Dark Oak. If you would like a physical colour swatch, Contact Us and we can send one out to you! Other designer cabinetry colours are available on request.
Is it delivered flat-packed?
Yes. Our wall beds and mattresses are sent as a kit set. They are easy to manoeuvre upstairs and around corners to get them in the room you want! You don’t have to worry about the assembly either as they are super easy to put together yourself, and we provide step-by-step instructions and a video if you would like it. If you don’t want to do it yourself though we recommend using a local builder or Hire-A-Hubby.
How does it fit on the wall?
Our wall bed MUST be attached to the wall, this is done at two points at the top. It can be secured anywhere across the top, so long as it is secured in two places. Check your wall, you may need additional fittings. The wall bed also has a cut out to allow for most skirting boards.
N.B. The handles aren’t attached to the wallbed doors so you can change these if you wish.
How often can it be used?
The ASKO Wall Bed can be used as a spare bed or every night. We make sure our wall bed is sturdy and durable so you don’t have to worry about how frequently you use it.
Can the mechanism come separately?
Unfortunately we do not sell any of the parts or the mechanism separately. The wall bed can only be bought as a whole not just the individual parts that it is made up of.
